Do you find buying gifts hard?

Well you're not alone! When gifting, it's natural to want to give something that the receiver will enjoy and treasure for years to come. But far too often finding that something can be extremely difficult.

That's why we're here to help you find that perfect gift for an artsy person who loves to get creative. We've also linked to items with got a good range of price levels - nothing beats a perfect present and a good deal!

  1. Beginner Art Set

    (Affiliate links)

Perfect for young, budding artists, this affordable set with shading/watercolour/charcoal pencils, sketchbooks, brushes and more is a great place to start. A set like this was one of the first artsy gifts I was given and although I used everything, I still treasure the case, the pieces, and the pure joy it brought me through the years. Could you be the person that provides hat for someone?

  2. Acrylic Paint Markers

    (Affiliate link)

Acrylic paint markers have become all the rage recently, taking the popular place that COPICS and other similar markers used to have. While the rather pricey (they are worth the price though) COPIC markers are still a very worthwhile gift, the viral acrylic paint marker tutorials, have art enthusiasts young and old excited to get their hands on these fun, yet useful pens.

  3. Fineliner Pen Sets

    (Affiliate link)

Everyone loves a good pen, and artists esepcially, appreciate a pen set that they can use to create an amazing artwork (and maybe even rise to the ink based challenge like Inktober). One of my first comic jobs as a teenager was created using the Faber Castell set linked above, and I still keep a set to hand even now.

  4. Traditional Brush Pen (Fude)

    (Affiliate link)

Fans of calligraphy, traditional ink wash painting, and various brush and ink art forms will absolutely treasure a gift like this. Combine, this with the gift above, and you've got the perfect set for a budding manga artist (mangaka)!

  5. How to draw manga

    (Affiliate link)

Speaking of manga, there are a heap of excellent tutorial books to help those who are drawn to creating the art form, so why not give the gift of mangaka knowledge to someone special. And if they prefer Marvel or DC style superhero comics then maybe consider getting a How to draw superheroes book instead!

  6. Shading Pencil Set

    (Affiliate link)

Sometimes, the most basic equipment is the most precious. A good set of shading pencils, can be a prized gift - especially for an avid sketcher or art student.

  7. Colouring Pencil Set and Colouring book

    (Affiliate link)

Along the same lines, a colouring pencil set is a great gift. Both children and adults alike love colouring and it is a great way to pass the time and relax. Why not give the gift of both?

  8. Diamond Art Set

    (Affiliate link)

Diamond art is just as therapeutic as colouring and has a rhythmic and methodical process to it. Everyone we've seen give it a go has absolutely loved the process and picked up more afterwards. The issue though is making sure you find a piece of artwork your giftee will enjoy creating (and for that reason - and more - you may want to steer clear of the AI designed images).

  9. Art of... books

There are so many Art of... books. Fans of anything, and artists of all walks absolutely love colleting these. You will need to know what the person you're buying this is into, but there are so many to pick from. Some of the favourites in my collection are Marvel's What if..., Terryl Whitlach's Animals Real and Imagined, Arcane, and Star Wars. (Affiliate links)

  10. An Ipad with Procreate

    (Affiliate link)

Sometimes gifts come with a hefty price tag, but anyone serious about making art, especially when they're on the go, will appreciate an Ipad and the procreate software. It's currently how a lot of budding digital artists, illustrators and animators are building their foundation, and a lot of professionals have these so they can work wherever adn whenever they want. This is certainly a gift they won't forget!

    Bonus:

Art based experiences such as specific exhibitions, classes, shows or even gallery memberships may be exactly what someone is after. So if you know they've been mentioning something over and over again that they've been absolutely obsessed with seeing, maybe spoil them with a ticket!

So there we have it, our gift list to help you get started! We hope that whatever you get that special someone, they absolutely love it, treasure it, and think of you whenever they pick it up!
